Our Youth Theatre drama programme aims to give young people aged 12-18 years on-going confidence, self-esteem, and skills in verbal communication through drama techniques.
This includes;
- Spontaneous improvisation
- Mini scripts
- Theatre games
- Radio plays
- Monologues and,
- Structured scenes
Working within a structured curriculum, our students develop public speaking skills, improve their self-esteem and confidence, and gain an enthusiastic and positive approach to life. Our Youth Theatre groups also provide a relaxed space to make friends, try new things, and have fun!
As our teens are in the upper age group, our classes for 12-18 year olds are called DK: Youth Theatre, with its own logo and t-shirts, ensuring students feel they have grown through the curriculum.
A Drama Kids year is made up of three terms, and each term concentrates on developmental drama that builds your child’s confidence throughout the year, with the final term culminating in a staged performance.
Our Approach
At our drama classes for Youth Theatre students, we believe in a student-centred approach. We provide a supportive and inclusive environment where children can feel safe to express themselves and take risks.
Our experienced teachers use a range of techniques to help your child develop their skills and creativity. We use improvisation, role-playing, and script work which builds confidence and communication skills. We also encourage our students to bring their own ideas and creativity to the classes.

Our focus in class is to ensure the students are having so much fun they don’t even realise the amazing skills they are learning by practicing clear speech and standing up in front of others. We work on a four-year cycle so students can start at the age of 4 and never repeat a lesson, making every term engaging and different.
